Questions, answered

Does the diary know how long it takes to get between jobs?

Yes. Port Talbot at ten and Pontypridd at five to eleven passes every other check there is and is still impossible, so travel is asked about separately — and the warning leads with the distance, which is solid, and calls the drive roughly, because one average speed is not a route. It warns and still lets you save: you can see the customer and the software cannot.

Can I put two people on one job?

Yes — a two-man lift or a bathroom with two fitters is one visit with two people on it. Both show as busy in their own diaries, which is the point: recording a second person without counting them busy would be worse than not having it at all.

What about a job that takes several visits?

A job is the work and a visit is a block of one person's time, so a job can have one visit or forty. A three-month site contract is a job with a diary, and a plumber doing one-visit jobs never has to learn the word.

Can the engineer do everything from a phone?

Yes. Their own work for the day, start and finish, photos and voice notes against the job, extra work found on site priced and sent for approval, parts flagged when something is missing, and the completion sheet at the end.

Does it do certificates?

Yes — your own forms, versioned, signed on site and kept against the job. Amendments after the fact need a manager to authorise them, because a certificate quietly edited later is worth nothing.

I subcontract. Does it handle CIS and retention?

Yes, and properly. The deduction is on labour only and before VAT, the statements and the tax-year reclaim are there, and retention is recorded so money being held does not make your invoice look overdue and get chased. Day rates too, counted from the diary rather than estimated.

What happens when nobody is in?

A wasted journey is recorded as what it was — the van went and the day went — rather than as a cancellation, so you can actually see how many you had. The customer gets a reminder the day before to cut the number of them.
